I am using Windows 10. I have it set to never combine taskbar buttons, however, it still combines the like applications. All the Excel tabs will group together and all the Word tabs will group together. I want to move around the Excel and Word tabs and not have them group on the taskbar. Is this possible?

Thank you in advance for any help,
yeto

i found the one made by this person: http://rammichael.com/ but as every new version of windows 10 breaks his program, he is constantly playing catch up and doesn't seem to have time to release a new version before Microsoft do. New version of win 10 every 6 months won't be helping - new version due next month or November so he doesn't have much time. You could try the beta as the program appears to stop grouping.
That should only happen if taskbar is full. Did you resize the icons on taskbar to be smaller? that will give you more space for open programs

There is also a setting in Excel (all versions) that you might want to check and if necessary change.

Open Exel : Options

Go to : Advanced

scroll down to : Display

Tick or Untick : Show all windows in taskbar (as per your preference)

same might apply to word

You need to open different documents or website in different INSTANCES of a program to get what you want.
To do that, let's take Excel as an example. Open one document in ONE Excel program. Open another document in ANOTHER INSTANCE by going to start ->All Programs ...finding your Excel icon. Then, you will see two icons on taskbar separately.
DON'T open another document in the Excel->File ->Open. In this case, you always see one icon and move them together.

there may also be a version of taskbar tweaker for win 10, I didn't look.

Yes, I have Taskbar Tweaker on my Windows 7 laptop and it works perfectly. I was hoping Windows 10 had something similar built in that I was over looking.

Kind regards,
