How do i uninstall my graphics driver?

I know how to uninstall drivers but i have a little problem here.
I have an amd radeon hd6670 and i bought a gtx 550 ti and it should be here today.
I have read that to uninstall amd graphics drivers you need to uninstall the catalyst program. But i have also seen that if you uninstall the catalyst program it can mess up your cpu if you have an amd fx series and in this case, i do. So i dont know what to do.
should i just go ahead and uninstall the catalyst program? or would going into device manager and right clicking my display and clicking uninstall work just as good?

Yes uninstall catalyst, and use something like driversweeper to completely remove the amd drivers.
