How do I unlock the lens of a canon digital camera

The lens is not closing. How do I get it to close?

With the camera turned off. Try removing the battery and fully charge it.
Put the battery back in and turn it on and wait a few minutes and try turning it off again.
You could try very gently tapping on the corner of the lens (not glass).

But odds are you will have to take it to a shop.
