How do i use 144hz

I am currently using my 144hz monitor, but I am using an HDMI cable, so I can only get 60 fps in games. just wondering what would I exactly need to buy if I wanted to get passed this 60 fps cap? a DVI cable?

Dual-link DVI can do 1080p 144Hz, but Displayport can run 144Hz at higher resolutions as well. Plus it's just a more modern connection that also carries audio.

As long as the monitor has the port. Otherwise you might need to buy an adapter.

That monitor has a DVI port but not Displayport. So you're better off getting a dual-link DVI cable.
