[SOLVED] How do i use 144hz

hello i recently upgraded my graphics card and it only has a display port and a hdmi port and i have a 144hz monitor with only a Dvi port and Hdmi port but hdmi doesnt support 144hz what do i do ?

I upgraded to a RTX 2060 super gaming X by msi

Your card has HDMI 2.0b which will run 144hz to your monitor. If your monitor is truly 144hz then the HDMI on it will be sufficient as well. You need to make sure your HDMI cable supports it. If it came with your monitor then it should.

HDMI has supported 1080pp@144hz for awhile(1.4). Problem is the HDMI port on many monitors is limited, so you need to check the specs of the monitor.

My monitor is a acer gn246hl the cord i'm using now didn't come with this monitor

Looks like your options are, and expensive and fickle Displayport to Dual Link DVI-D adapter(~$100), return the current card and get a 2060s that has a dvi port(there are a few) or a new monitor.

Ah yes "Needs to be connected via DVI-DL"

Just get a new monitor with variable refresh rate (and a Display Port input so you can use variable refresh with your GPU). An equivalent would cost slightly under $200.
