How do I use IDE connections on ASUS M4A87TD-M USB3. ( NOT SHOWN IN bIOS)

Solution
ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 has the JMicron JMB368 controller :
1 x UltraDMA 133/100/66 for up to 2 PATA devices , navy blue

JMicron JMB36X Controller Driver is found in downloads in the UTILITIES section.

If your not booting from the IDE controller you can disable the IDE option ROM in the BIOS.

You also need to know how to set master/slave jumpers and the different positions on the IDE cable.
I don't believe Asus makes a Asus M4A87TD-M USB3 model. You should check the model number again if you don't know what motherboard you have.

M5A78L-M/USB3 Storage
Built-in Controller :
6 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue
Support Raid 0, 1, 10, JBOD

The motherboard also has a one internal parallel port connector. That is a LPT connector (26-1 pin LPT). The LPT (Line Printer Terminal) connector supports devices such as a printer.

There is no IDE connector on the M5A78L-M/USB3.

Oops I made a big mistake. The Motherboard is ASUS M4A87TD/USB3. I also have a ASUS M4A88TD-M. Got a bit mixed up. SO Sorry, can you help me with the problem. Many Thanks Haltonapp.

Thank you so much for taking time out to help.

Unfortunately I don`t have the ASUS Drivers disc. but I did download the necessary file from the ASUS website. However it would not let me open it." could not find ASUS setup ini. When I tried to install the RIAD file it said NO JMicronJMB36X adapter found, HELP

Clear the CMOS and Load Setup Defaults from the BIOS exit menu.
(page 1-16 and 2-30 of downloadable manual)

If it still doesn't work, it may have had the BIOS flashed to different motherboard which could trick the motherboard into thinking it is a different model.

I am afraid that did not work. Can you explain this. I went into make a disk and the programme said to select item for M4A89GTD PRO/USB3, I have had a look at the specs for this motherboard, it is a hybrid and very similar to the M4A87TD/USB3
