How do I watch a movie from my desktop HD on my android tablet?

I have a storage drive on my desktop that I have ripped and converted all my movies to mp4. I have shared access to that drive so I can view them on my laptops via my home wifi network. I want to be able to do the same thing with my tablets and I haven't figured out how to do that. How can I view those movies on my tablets from my desktop storage HD like I can my laptops?

You could run a media server like Plex or Windows media player. That allows the tablet to access the files via DLNA protocols. You could run ES File Explorer on your tablet. That would allow your tablet access to Windows shared directories.

Outstanding!!! I downloaded the ES file manager to my tablet and after scanning for my home network am now watching my movies from the storage drive on my desktop via the home network.
