...... associate programs with certain file extensions. When I was on 98se if I wanted to open up a .JPG with a program I could go into c:\Windows and then click on that small filing cabinet known as Winfiles. In there I could assosiate prgrams with files.

Any ideas??

Thanks. It's just I downloaded Real Player and now all my mp3's are associated with that and I want them to start up with Media PLayer when I click on them.

Thanks for info

Media player probably has some sort of "re-associate" button somewhere, might be a bit easier.

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

Real Player will become your default player when installed. Go into the View pulldown menu on front of the Real Player and choose preferences. Then click on the upgrade tab. Then you have two buttons towards the bottom of the player (re-associate and auto restore settings). These two buttons will give you access to the real player associates where you can uncheck any formats associated with the real player...

cheers!
