how do you boot a operating system from a win xp computer

hello,

i have a old windows xp computer and i want to boot a usb with slax on it, but when i went into bios to change the boot seaqence from floppy disk,hdd to boot from a external storage drive or usb in this case but theres no such option. so is there a way to boot my usb with slax on it?
