How do you change READ ONLY MODE protection on sd card

the physical switch is off but it still says that the switch is on. how can i format the sd card

Could be a problem in the Windows Registry so try Step 6 here (but be careful in there):

If that doesn't fix the problem, the card itself may be faulty - - bin it & buy a new one.

Second thoughts, try a different card first. If that gives same error as well, then try the registry fix.
