How do you combine a amd video card and a nvidia video card on windows 10?

I have a amd video card and a nvidia video card. I'm currently running windows 10 with directx 12. I have been looking to see how to combine the cards together. All I have been able to find is how it is possible to do it, but not how. Can I mix the video cards now or wait? Is it automatic or do I need to set something up? Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
