How do you connect an xperia to a secure wireless network

trying to connect ericcson xperia to wpa2 secure network.It sees the network but does not give me a screen to input network password
thank you for any help or ideas

I would always start any new connection by temporarily disabling wireless security in the router -- it just eliminates one major bugbear.
