I need to get a new Power Supply Unit, but I have heard you can get shocked removing them. I'm kinda scared to remove it and I have heard different ways to discharge it like "Keep the switch on" or "Keep the switch off" or "Press the power button" or "Don't press the power button " I am confused. Any help will be appreciated.

Solution
That wont happen, you dont need to worry about that.
Just unplug the unit and call it done before you remove it.

If you are worried about it, unplug the unit and hold the power button for a few seconds. Never done this and never had a single issue.

Gam3r01 is correct, just unplug it and remove it. I think what is confusing you is information about opening up the PSU, that is, removing the case and messing with the components inside: You can get shocked doing that. But to replace the PSU just unplug it from the wall/power source and unplug all the interior wires from you components and remove it.

Just don't attempt to repair the old one. Unplug everything > uninstall the old PSU > install your new PSU > then plug everything back in.

The people who are getting shocked are the idiots actually opening the power supply up and attempting to fix them.
