How do you get power to a Fan on a GTX 980 ASUS STRIX GPU?

This is my first PC build. I am definatly no expert and I need some help figuring this out. Everything is working fine except the fan on my GPU isn't running at all. Could it be a power cable issue? I will post pictures of everything.

Here is my card.

Here are the pin sockets to power the fan and the card. I unplugged the cables and moved the wires out the way.

Here is the two cables that I hooked into my GPU. They are two seperate cables. The slot on the right only needs 6 pins and luckily the GPU power cables can can be either 6 pins or 8 pins. But it's still not powering the fan though. I don't know why it wouldn't.

Here is the other end, where I plug into the power supply box thing. The two in the middle are them. The manuel on my power supply says plug into the VGA slots. So that's what I did.

Sorry I cant be of more help. I am major noob at this. If you want any more pictures just ask and I will take them. Thanks for the help.

Solution
The Asus gtx 980 has a 0db fan feature where the fans won't spin. They begin to spin when the card reaches 60 C. It's just a feature to keep it silent. If you want to adjust it you can change the fan curve with MSI afterburner.

If the fans don't turn on after 60 C then you may have a problem.

Do you know of a way to where I can get them at or a little past 60° C or a little higher to get them to check? Like what would you run to get them running?

What is MSI Afterburner?

MSI Afterburner is a third party program in which you can overclock you're graphics card, adjust the fan speed, and monitor temperatures among other things.
