Hello. I have quite a lot of dust on ny pc. I ordered a 3 pack compressed air cans just now and its arriving Dec 4. I have some quite dust and want to know how you guys do it to see if I'm doing it wrong. I have cleaned my pc 2 times already but maybe I'm doing it wrong 🤷‍♀️

Solution
When spraying, move the component you're cleaning. Not the air can.
When spraying, use short bursts as opposed to long duration sprays.
When spraying, never allow cooling fans (CPU Cooler, Graphic Card Coolers, Case Fans) spin freely. Always hold fans in place.
For stuck on crud (smoker's listen up), I use a clean and dry, soft bristle toothbrush to loosen it up before spraying it away.

Thanks. What do you mean by moving the components? I don't smoke but my family member vapes so... can I use a normal toothbrush.

I mean if you have the component in your left hand and the can of air in your right hand, Keep your right hand still and move the component in your left hand

As long as you're gentle with it, sure. This isn't a toothbrush you're currently using for your teeth. If you have an old, spare one, use that. If not and you can't purchase one, try a dry paint brush.

Ok thanks. Last question, I take put the components when I clean or can I leave them in?

also you may want to move the PC somewhere , because blowing the dust iin the area your Pc is in will just make dust go back in PC .. I also take out my fans and carefully clean the blades< I do same on CPU cooler and GPU .. sometimes just blowing air doesn't do best job, Qtips can work well for fan blades. I tend to moisten them and more or less wash the blades

Ok. I'll just keep the fans in my pc since I am really not an expert in taking apart a pc. I'll try and see what I could do. Thanks

probably take out the GPU.. fans I leave in .. I just carefully clean with a damp Qtip .. I use a small pain brush to brush any of the dust from heat fins .. as well small spots on motherboard .. I take out the GPU only to get better access to fans and heat fins .. but everything else I leave in place i however dont use compressed air either.. but the way i do my PC is probably far from recommended lol..so i wont suggest it other than the fans and paint brush ..a nd moving unit, as blowing dust into air where you leave PC is kinda pointless for cleaning
