How do you like this build?

Hello, new member here! First thread!
I have been researching for weeks now and I have these components for my hardcore gaming desktop. I am asking you guys to consider this list and see any imperfections here. My budget is about $3000 and since this is a lot I want a super duper gaming rig for the money. Since I have been researching a lot, I think this is pretty much a perfect build. Then again, there are more experienced people here and maybe they could suggest some tweaks.
The BOLD items are the ones I REALLY want you guys to comment on.

1. For a "hardcore" and "super duper" build, you have to have SSDs. Add 1 or more in addition to the HDD you've chosen.
2. You don't need a sound card unless you're an audiophile.
3. For a hardcore build, get an additional GPU for 2way SLI (3way SLI is a waste)
4. I would get at least 8gb of RAM. It won't cost much more.
5. May as well get an Ivy Bridge processor, it's more current than Sandy Bridge. The reason you see sites like iBuyPower still selling Sandy Bridge is just because they are getting them out of their inventory.
6. In regards to your CPU cooler; If you are going with an internal tower type, make sure it won't block your memory slots.

1. Can you please tell me what an SSD and an HDD means because I don't understand the abbreviations sorry and also tell me more about #1
2. Yeah, I guess you're right on that one
3. This one, I'm REALLY confused on what you're saying. If I understand you correctly, what you're saying is that I should overclock it with another Video Card? Im probably wrong, so please explain if I am.
