How do you move all of your sotfware to a newly purchased PCPC

I just finished a new build for the first time. Before I install windows 7, how would I transfer (or back up) all of my software, steam library, and downloads to the new OS?

Use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer your Windows profile and data. Re-install Steam on the new PC and download all of the games again. Game saves will have to be transferred manually.
