Question How do you replace a Power Supply?

hey, i was wondering if anyone can tell me if its easy to replace a power supply. giving im not a huge expert with computers.

The power supply above is what im getting. i dont know where all the plugs go. and is it possible to plug it into the wrong thing. so lets say ive set it all up, and everything is plugged in, is their a chance of it being done wrong and that i damage it. or will they only be allowed to be plugged in to the right pins? i have no idea how to do this. Below is a picture of my pc and it looks like all the wires go into the power supply in one spot, compared to the one im buying that has multiple options

Its hard to go wrong with installing a PSU. Just youtube it, loads on there. Routing the cables can be a little tricky depending on your case. All the cables can only really fit in one way and into one socket IE the 24pin Power connector.

So just Youtube it and you will be fine

All connectors are keyed so they can fit only in right place, check your MB manual what has to be connected and where.

and i have heard the power supply ventilation needs to be facing downwards. is that correct?

The new PSU is classed as fully modular, which are good as you only use the connectors you need (keeps PC tidy and more air flow)

Depends on your case for the fan position.

It's modular, cables that plug in the PSU are also keyed and marked what goes where. You don't have to plug them all in, just the ones you need.
