how do you unlock a read only partition

On my dell 7010 drive D: is read only im trying to reload windows from the factory image from the X: partition but it keeps telling me drive D is read only.

How are you getting to the factory restore utility?

Now it's asking for a subprogram what sub is it looking for ????????????????

Click on start menu
Click on all programs
Click Dell DataSafe folder
Click Dell DataSafe Local Backup
