[SOLVED] How do you upscale on pc?

So red dead is out, barely hitting about 45 fps with a 2080 ti and an 8700. Was reading an article that says nvidia suggest upscaling. Probably will just lower some setting but how do you upscale on pc? Could go down to 1440p but tv dont do 60hz at 1440. Does it at 1080 and 4k.

I think that some TVs......If you input 1080p.....will upscale to 4K.
Although I don't think it looks as good as actual 4K.

I think that's what they call Nvidia DSR.

Nope, DSR is exactly opposite, what OP wants.
With DSR game is rendered in higher resolution and image is downscaled to screen resolution. This results in superior anti-aliasing at cost of reduced performance.

Yes but that's what nvidia ment anyway,increasing resolution will move the bottleneck over to the GPU making the game run smoother.

The game is already maxing out the GPU.
