Having a few issues with a printer that a friend gave to me. It's a Canon Pixma iP 3000...I've read it's mainly for printing pictures but I'd like to do some text printing as well. Is that possible? If so, I'm wondering where exactly to load the paper. In the front top or on the rear of the machine? Please help, thank you!

Yes, that printer is fine for text printing. The paper can go in either route, but if you are using thicker paper such as photo paper its best to use the back loader as this bends the paper less and so is less likely to misfeed.

If you want to, you can download the owners manual from usa.canon.com
