How do you use a hard wired with an Ethernet (Comcast) modom/router combo without constantly getting knocked off line? Technicolor TC8305C. I'm at my wits end. No one at Comcast can help. I have done everything under the sun except the right thing! I just want to use this router with my desktop pc. I have no wireless anything right now. I kept this router because I intend to get a printer soon. My dinosaur XP worked just fine with this router, now I am running Windows 8.1. Someone answer this for me PLEASE!!!! Thanks

I know one model of Technicolor DSL modems wasn't processing Win8.1 DNS requests here in NZ. Probably the same issue.

Set the DNS server in Windows directly to your ISP's servers, or to Google (8.8.8.8).

If when looking at your available networks, you see a Xfinitywifi with same signal strength. Contact Comcast, and tell them to disable the Xfinity hotspot on your gateway

I understand I have the same issue trying to even to connect my laptop hard wire to this new comcast techicolor. I can connect my xboxone and my ps4 hard wire to it. But on my laptop??? I called comcast and they said it's a set my laptop? I'm using vista right now it shows undefined connection. ..
