How does a Core 2 Quad Q6600 compare to a core i3?

If we assume an i3-4170, then for gaming let's just concentrate on SINGLE THREAD because it's a 2C/4T so not the same physical core count:

922 vs
2160

So for some games you could be getting less than HALF the frame rate. Obviously the GPU is a factor but as a rough guide there it is.

Converting video?
If the program can use all threads well then compare the average score for a rough guide so perhaps 70% to 80% faster on the i3-4170.
