how does a laptop with a corrupt BIOS behave my laptop has shocked me reply to

my pavlion Laptop just went off and when i turn it on it boots to show the window animation the land into a screen of small boxs the with screen then it will not go on. please advise

if the bios is corrupt you won't even see the windows animation.
it is running windows 10? could be doing the update.
