How does GPU Boost 2.0 work on GT 940MX?

I've been watching the statistics of my GPU lately. Overclocked Core clock to 135 and memory clock to 245 but after a while, the CPU clock goes down from 1336 MHz to 1121 MHz and I notice a little more stuttering. Is GPU Boost 2.0 even working? or am I doing something wrong? Overclocking a laptop is pretty dumb and I cannot afford a top-tier gaming laptop and overclocking seemed to improve both my gaming FPS and rendering performance for Auto Cad or Adobe products.

I do have a gaming rig but I am mostly at school rendering these stuff and play some games like DOTA 2 or Overwatch and etc.

Hi,

GPU Boost 2.0 is working just fine. It basically pushes your GPU to give you the maximum performance when needed and once your GPU reaches a certain high temperature after prolonged heavy use, the GPU Boost 2.0 decreases the GPU clock speed to let your GPU cool down for a bit. It then throttles back to maximum clock speed and repeats the process.
CPU clock goes down from 1336 MHz to 1121 MHz
I am assuming you actually meant GPU?

I am not aware of any such methods unfortunately. You can manually increase clock speeds of your CPU, GPU, etc (if supported) but I would highly recommend against it. There is a reason Nvidia has a "maximum operating temperature" set and you will end up burning your card or worse if you manipulate with it.

I get "ORANGE" screens of death after too much overclocked values though. Thanks for the info
