Very vague question, can you be more specific ? I suppose you know that drivers "intertwine" (describe) HW to OS and programs communicate with HW thru drivers instead directly. DirectX is set of APPIs that contain part of drivers and programs that use DirectX do it thru those APPIs instead of drivers.
