Hey guys, I'm ShazamoTheGreat and this is my first post on Tom's Hardware.

I have put together a parts list for my first custom PC build ever and wanted to get your opinion on it. Remeber though, I am a beginner when it comes to building PC's, so take it easy on me, I would appreciate it.

I'd like to be able to play games like Skyrim, BorderLands 2, and Minecraft on max settings.
I would also want to be able to play games like Warframe and GTA IV on Mid to High settings.
Not really interested in Overclocking or anything like that.
I'm trying to keep the price under $800.
If something needs improved, please feel free to tell me.

Also, I want to hook up dual monitors, I looked at the specs of the case and motherboard and, if I read correctly, their are enough DVI and HDMI ports for two monitors.

Here's the link

Parts List

Thanks for the help guys.

Drop the cooler and paste because you cannot overclock that CPU.

Get 1600mhz RAM

The GPU is WEAK it will only play at low settings. IF you want max settings be prepared to pay $250 for a GPU.

The PSu is trash. Stick with Antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic,

Hi and welcome

1. Reduce the cpu to something like and i3 or AMD FX6300 (FX6300 better and can OC than the i3)

http://goo.gl/dxL05G

2. for the FX6300 you would need to change your motherboard to and AM3+ one like this http://goo.gl/x5C1pE

for the i3 you wont have to

3. Drop the cpu cooler for now save money since you wont OC

4. change the gpu to a HD7850 http://goo.gl/NTIw9j
or HD7870(better)http://goo.gl/TfGewh

5. get a cheaper case

6.Get a better PSU like THIS http://goo.gl/3Vi7Pk

And you should be good to go :)

If you have any questions just ask or PM me

Good luck
Hope i helped

Better but how about a NZXT source 210 for about $30-$40 good case but cheaper then get an hd7870 from amazon because it is the same price of the hd7850 that you chose 😛 and better
hd7870 http://goo.gl/eqhsUQ
case http://goo.gl/k6Q1r0
CX600W psu
Then should be good :)

Better and faster build for a little more:

That is not better than my build
same lvl CPU
worse GPU
worse PSU
More expensive

Ok the PSU may be a bit cheaper, however it is still a great PSU for the price. Also I'm sorry but the i5 3570 easily beats the i3, and the GPU is the exact same.

That is true but i didn't say to get an i3 i said get an FX6300 which is just a bit slower but $90 less and the GPU is worse Hd7870 > Hd7850(yours)

Oh whoops nvm was looking at the OP's link. Yea getting a fx 6300 and 7870 are good choices.

😀

How about this, I changed the things you suggested. I didn't really like the look of the case you showed me, so I looked around and found one for the same price that looks a bit nicer.

Case wont load.... sure get it.
i see i3 though. get the FX6300 the mobo i showed you and the HD7870 form amazon

Here it is, I changed the CPU and motherboard, I had room in my budget, so I got a higher quality motherboard, so that upped the price a bit, but still well under my budget.

I chose a Corsair 430 watt 80plus bronze, same price, better brand. What do you think?

PSU

430 probably wont be enough get a CX600W version of it :)

I think that the one you just showed me is a little expensive fro me right now, if necessary I will get a lower wattage (I will be sure it's safe, of course) and upgrade it later on, plus, I think 550 watts is a little overpowered for watt I'm doing (see what I did there 😛) This one is the one I think would work.

Its alot of money because its soo efcient 80PLUS GOLD

80plus bronze<silver<gold<platinum<titanium(only 1 psu 1000w not out yet)
