Hello! Thanks for taking the time to see post and sorry if this isn't the subthread for this question
I wanted to know how would my pc perform as compared to PS4 and PS4 pro. and what upgrades would i need to make in my PC for it to be at level with the PS4 Pro.
and would overclocking be sufficcient ?
SPECS:
core i3 3220 3.3 ghz 4 cores(apparently)
8gb ram
Nvidia GEFORCE gtx 1050ti 4gb
Thanks again!:)

Against the PS4 Pro this is how your computer stands

CPU - Better per core performance but you have 2C/4T and windows has a more CPU overhead than the PS4 Pro
RAM - Equalish. Same amount but your GPU had dedicated RAM instead of the PS4 Pro sharing the RAM
GPU - Weaker. The PS4 Pro has a GPU more like a 1060 6GB.

No amount of overclocking will get your GPU to fight up a full weight class of going to a 1060 6GB.

Is it really equivalent to 1060 6GB performance at full gaming load?

The specs of the PS4 Pro are close to that of the RX 480, so the performance will be around a 470/480/1060. Still those are far faster than the fastest 1050Ti.
No it’s not

The PS4 Pro has a theoretical floating point performance of 4.2 Tflops. The stock 480 has a performance of 5.8/9 tflops and the Xbone X has 6. The pro is more around the 7970 is terms of theoretical performance. In the real world it’s more like a 470.

In terms of how games will perform, it's not always exactly a straightforward comparison either, since console games will typically have their graphics options fixed to a set level, and will often render a game at a lower-than-native resolution or cut other corners to maintain a certain level of performance. On a PC, you typically have much more control over adjusting settings to make trade-offs between visuals and performance. What graphics settings look best to you on your hardware might not always correlate with what the developers of a game feel works best on a particular console.

Are you unsatisfied with your performance in certain games? Have you tried adjusting settings? And what resolution are you gaming at, 1080p or something else?

Thanks a lot everyone for the answers! I wanted to compare the two to get an idea of how my pc would perform in the coming years and what upgrades would i need to do to keep it at par with current gen consoles performance. apparently it is not that simple considering other major factors.

I play games at 1080p never below that even if I have to turn down the other settings a bit. Thanks for the reply!

You would be better off comparing your system to the specs of each game you want to play instead of a console capable of playing the same game.
Even if you could "match" the hardware of a console you would get different results.

If your system runs the games you want how you want them to run, you are good.
Once you come across something you cant run, upgrade. A console's specs has nothing to do with this.
Dont buy hardware now for the future, because there is always something better on the horizon.
