Hello, I bought a new laptop from a good dealer and he upgraded my ram from 4GB to 8GB.
When I played games it would crash my whole laptop and reboot after about 5 minutes but when I removed the upgraded ram I could play the game fine.

Both the ram sticks are the same with the same numbers and I uninstalled them and reinstalled them just to make sure.

What is wrong with my laptop when I upgrade the ram?

RAM can crash your system if there is faulty memory modules on the stick it will usually crash once it has reached the faulty areas of that particular piece of memory. Given the way memory works and the amount of memory in systems today users can sometimes go for long periods of time without hitting the bad sections of their memory. By practice I test all memory I install on my systems and those that I build for others using memtest86. You will need to have the memory replaced for hopefully working sticks. If you want to be sure this is the issue you can download a copy of either memtest86 or memtest86+ and install it either on a CD or Flashdrive and boot your system to the disk/flash drive and let it run for a while it shouldn't take long to see a failure pop up on bad memory using these applications but usually they take a while to complete a full test (bad memory could be found as early as a few seconds in).

www.memtest86.com or www.memtest86.org (either works sometimes one is more up to date for newer systems than the other)

What do you mean? I usually just power off my laptop, remover the battery and unplug, and remove one 4gb stick then power on my pc and use it. Is that bad or am I supposed to do something else?

You need to test each stick on its own to show each is OK.

When changing mem size (4GB to 8GB or 8GB to 4GB) you should go into setup and then save and exit.
If you are just swapping one stick for another in testing the size would be the same.
