So this is my question... I have a Ryzen 5 2600, (not x) and yet I was able to overclock it to 3.98GHz at 1.3V, but my question is how the heck did I do this to a processor that's not unlocked, AND I have a B450 chipset motherboard, which shouldn't be able to overclock in the first place...

My humble apologies for returning so late. Well, I finally got my parts. But when I saw the 2600 at my doorstep, I remembered this thread. My humble apologies.
I was watching 'Linus Tech Tips' on Youtube and he said one of the good things about AMD is the whole Ryzen cpu line can be overclocked. By now you probably know that so I leave it at that.
Good on You.

Mark an answer please.

B450 Chipset motherboards completely do support overclocking.
The X variant of AMD Ryzen processors mean that they have higher clock speed and higher turbo boost frequency than the non-X variant out-of-box without having to change anything.
