I just purchased a RTX 3080 and I am upgrading from an i7-7700k cpu. I do not stream at all because my internet has not been that great, however I just got starlink and maybe as it starts to get better i might end up streaming one day. My question is I know if I was just gaming, The 5600x would be enough. If I was to stream I would want 5800x. However the new 5700x is out. There is not that much data on it however. How comparable is it to the 5800x and is it worth even considering? I thought about buying the 5900x but I am not sure if I will ever even stream so I am afraid it will be a waste.

Well, 5700x is just 100MHz (at max boost on one core) slower than 5800x, same number of cores. but probably 100 bucks less. R5 5600x has...

Well, 5700x is just 100MHz (at max boost on one core) slower than 5800x, same number of cores. but probably 100 bucks less. R5 5600x has 2 cores less but single core performance so for SW/games using up to 6 cores (most need up 4 cores anyway) performance all 3 would be same. If you disable those extra 2 cores from other 2, they would perform same.
However, more cores is more future proof although maybe for next couple of years.
