Hi. I bought a gtx 1050ti which has only displayport, hdmi and dvi-d. But my monitor only supports vga. So i bought a displayport to vga active converter from amazonbasics. Heres the link.

And yes it is an active converter, not the passive ones. Ive gone through the other th threads regarding the same.
My question is, how durable are these. I plan to use it for 4-5 years. I cannot change my monitor unfortunately. Will it work smoothly for playing games at ultra quality?

Solution
Will it work: yes
Will it last for 5 years: decent probability but we dont have a working time machine to tell you for sure.

A monitor made in the last 8 years and a decent power supply is part of the cost of gaming.
This is why even medium-low end GPUs no longer support VGA, as it is an extra expense for the OEM when anyone wanting to game should have a monitor made in this decade.
So many people throw a $150 graphics card in a $300 computer thinking that is the total investment for gaming. Its like the people who buy the $600 ebay turbo kit for thier honda, bolt it on and have a trashed engine in 2 weeks or less.
To be totally blunt if you cant afford a monitor for 5 years then you should probably be spending your time/money a litte...
