[SOLVED] How exactly is RAID 0 speed calculated?

For example, for an action (which could be seq w/r or 4k w/r, etc.). Four drives individually obtains the speed S1 < S2 < S3 < S4. When all four drives form a RAID 0 sector, when performing the same test, ignoring the computational overhead, what will the resulting speed be? Will it be S1 + S2 + S3 + S4 or 4 x S1? That is, will the resulting speed be the sum of individual speed, or is it bottlenecked by the lowest one?

It would be 4xS1. In theory, real world would be substantially less (depending the exact drives and type of I/O).

If they are not identical drives, the performance would be hampered by the speed of the slowest.

In theory, 4x 'the slowest'.
In practice, slower than that.
