How far to Overclock an E6420 CPU?

I am overclocking my E6420 (on my ASUS P5B Deluxe board) and would be interested to know what people have acheived with overclocking this CPU (or the E6400, which I assume would reach similar results).

I've got to 3.2GHz without trouble, but would be interested to know how far others have got to know how far to try to push it.

Many thanks!

Thanks; I know what you mean about pushing more and more volts through it until you get too worried to push any more (or the memory won't take it, or it gets too hot).

I was just interested to know how my overclock compared to what others have achieved with the CPU. It didn't seem too difficult to me so far; stock cooler, 1.3v in BIOS (something less in reality), 400 x 8 multiplier, low temperatures. I'm sure with a bit more effort and dabbling with memory settings as I start to overclock that, I could acheive more.

I was interested to know what to aim for. Is 3.2GHz really good and nobody's got it higher, or am I at the start of my journey and should acheive 4GHz if I persevere?

Many thanks!

Tnx jsc 🙂

tell me about a good M.B which it's good for overclocking and have a good features like the DG965RY. And support SLI TECHNOLOGY
