How Far Will GPU Prices Drop after New Nvidia Launch?

I was wondering when should I buy a GPU. Currently, I found a sweet deal for an RX 580 8gb that's below MSRP when counting rebates and discounts. I'm tempted to buy it right now, but want to wait for some input. Does anybody know when the last time Nvidia or AMD released a new generation how much the prices dropped for the old generation?

Generally speaking prices dont drop all that much. They will drop slightly for a few weeks at launch, but then manufacturers stop sending stock so prices go back up, higher than they originally were.

If it sounds like a good deal to you, and you need the upgrade, then go ahead and buy it.
