Hello, I need to add some memory to my HD Television via an onboard usb, for recoding programmes. I can use 2.5 hdd, USB stick or SD card in a reader. Which will have the fastest write speed?. Michael

The data rate for recording compressed video is not particularly high, so any decent USB stick or SD card+reader would probably work OK. The flash memory solutions also have the advantage of needing very little power.

But a hard drive would have a lot more capacity for shows. Hard drives are also faster, but that's not a particular advantage in this particular application if you compare it to a flash drive that's "fast enough".

Thanks for the advise, I'll try both options. One of my work mates suggested and loaned me a high speed Flash drive (Corsair Voyager GT), so I should be sorted. Cheers.
