How future proof is a GTX 1070 Ti at 1080p Max settings? Would I be able to get max setting for least 2-4 years and then another one or two in high or so? I’m pairing this Up with a i5 8400 and 2666Mhz 16 GB ram. Trying to get the best for my buck. Thank you! I know down the line CPU will need to be upgraded.

The 1000 series GPUs are already 2 years old.
I highly doubt you will get max settings in 4 years from now.
That's a total of 6 years since the GPU launched.

1 or 2 years on max settings maybe yes. It all depends on the game really.
Used to have a GTX 770 (launched in 2013) and it couldn't run Crysis 3 at 60FPS on max settings.
Neither could it run Wolfenstein The New Order on max settings.
Both are games from 2013-2014.

The best for your buck would be to wait for the new Nvidia GPUs.

That's a bit like asking someone to tell you the future. It's good right now at 144Hz 1080p. If you're going 60Hz 1080p then it'd last a bit longer. But again, nobody can really say how long it will last at max settings, that would actually depend on your fps expectations.
