Hey guys, I'm in the process of shopping around for parts for my gaming computer. I want to buy a new monitor and some other accessories a little before I actually build my computer, to spread the cost out over a couple months. Anyway I want to buy a new monitor now. Anything in the $200-300 market is good, but I can spend up to $400 if it's really worth it. Also res. has to be at least 1680x1050 and I prefer widescreen since I will be watching movies and TV on my computer. Also a DVI input is a must, VGA won't cut it. I will be doing a lot of gaming so response time should be relatively fast, under 8ms. Size wise I wanted something at least 19".

So with a little newegg searching I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824112005

Now that monitor seems ideal for me. In my budget, big, good res, fast response time, DVI input (even has HDMI and some USB ports), it's widescreen, and it looks rather nice. Now I have not heard much about scepture. I've only seen a couple of their monitor options on newegg. Are they a good brand comparable to viewsonic and dell monitors? Am I better off going with the Dell 20.1" screen? Thanks!

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that other monitor options should have good specs too. As in at least 800:1 contrast and 300 cd/m brightness

okay I read some reviews on the scepture monitor and it seems their customer service sucks and that there are a lot of dead and stuck pixels and the DVI ports are known to fail after a week to a few months. I found this nice LG monitor that is a little over my budget, but has the best contrast I have ever seen. 3000:1!!!! Do you think it's worth the extra money? This Acer monitor also looks nice and costs a lot less: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824009102
