I'm looking for a gaming keyboard, and was going for the steelseries apex. then i saw the tesoro mechanical keyboards being cheaper. I immediately thought of getting the Excalibur spectrum, which is both mechanical, and rgb lilluminated (seems like more lighting effects than the apex)

So, they're are new company founded in about 201, and they do not seem to be as famous as the other manufacturers, but are their products durable? How's their customer service?

Also, i think the excalibur does not use cherry mx(just says gaming grade switch or sth like that), does anyone know what switches it uses.

I would appreciate any help, thanks

Kailh switches as per this article. They are step down from what a conventional Cherry MX switch is but then again for a first foray into a mechanical keyboard, you could go all out and get the cream of the crop board with Cherry MX switches or for an entry into the market get the lower cost version.

They don't seem to be famous since they haven't been actively promoting their gear. Razer may be a popular brand but as an owner of their peripherals, I'm not happy with their QC department since they either break just outside of warranty period expiration or are disfigured badly that it's not covered under warranty(like the rubber coming off or their keys lettering coming away).

In hindsight, famous branding isn't everything...

In hindsight, famous branding isn't everything as Corsair seem to have issue with their CUE software and newly released Rapidfire Switches/Keyboard range. If you're skeptical of the investment then get a Coolermaster Devastator II and when the rush/issues die down for the mechanical keyboards(that are newly released) you can pick one up.
