Hello,
I now have these parts, and I want to upgrade to a I7.I Video edit,and Play Games like BF2,WOW,and want great FPS and something that can be upgraded in the future. I have parts from my PC and want to know what I should replace

As it is, you need to rework the parts as prices will have changed in the last week.

The things I marked in red ? mean I really don't want to google those. You need to put a little more effort forward and tell me what those things are. Hard drives? CD drives?

So you need a new monitor? If not what do you have?
Where do you live? Do you have a preference about where you will buy stuff?
Do you want to overclock?

I'd like to upgrade without breaking the bank or surpassing what I see available on the market for a desktop from dell or gateway. Is that possible ? will what I build be That much better to justify putting the parts together?

That Caviar Blue is still a decent drive, so that will Be OK as your boot drive.
The Xaser is extremely roomy, so I see no issues keeping that at all.
Your optical drive is likely OK as well.
So yes, you can do quite a bit better by building your own.

Shovenose, were you responding to a different post? The OP has 1K to spend and wants an i7.


Yes rockyg66, you can do quite well building your own. Usually you will come out slightly ahead in performance and miles ahead in parts quality.

The PSU and board will easily allow you to add a second one if you get the urge.


That leaves you about enough room to add Win 7 if you like, and still be under 1K after rebates.
