Vast majority of LCD panels are from only 4 or 5 makers. This is likely one of those and has a 3-year warranty. With the good Newegg reviews, no real reason to avoid.

CHIMEI is a worse choice to choose if you want to save a few bucks

they use the same technology like the popular brand names

but their materials quality is low,if you don't want that your monitor will

play dead on you after a few months don't buy it.

Well, the panel, at least, seems to be good enough for Samsung...

"There is not a whole lot of information on the panel used in the 225BW and there is a lot of conflicting information on the net. There have been some individuals who have dismantled the monitor and found a Chi Mei Optoelectronics M220Z1-L01 panel.
Samsung also makes a 22” TN widescreen panel of their own with very similar specifications called the LTM220M1. It is possible that they may begin to use their own in the future, so we are unable to accurately predict what panel will reside in all production 225BWs."

None the less, sounds like that "S" vs. "A" panel-war over Samsung's 226BW... .
