ve had my laptop for a year. People have told me its good for gaming but for some reason it doesnt game to well. Like Black Ops 2 Nvidia says I could play with almost max settings at stable 60 FPS but about 1080p, Low shadows, Extra textures, and 4x MSAA it starts dropping from 60 Frames to mid 50s and its very annoying. This is my laptop

Lenovo Ideapad Z710
Display - 17.3-Inch 1920 x 1080 LED Full HD Screen
Processor - Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.40 Ghz Turbo up to 3.2 Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache
Graphics - Nvidia GeForce GT 745M 2GB DDR3 VRAM
Memory - 8GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600Mhz
Storage - 1TB 5400 RPM
OS - Windows 8.1

Well, the GPU is a (nowadays) typical midrange card, but the rest is ok. You should be able to play on medium-high details without too much effort @1080p tho, at least on BO2.

Are all drivers/requisites installed and up to date?
Are you actually using the discrete GPU (done by adding the game amongst the applications to run with the high performance Nvidia device from the Nvidia control panel) rather than the integrated Intel one?

I'm personally not much into laptops, but those are the first things that pop into my mind...
