Hi guys, looking at saving some money on my new build and dropping down my proposed GeForce GTX760 card to a GeForce GTX660 or GTX660 Ti. This will save me about $100. Is the performance difference noticable between the two and is it worth saving $100 for?
How powerful would 2 GTX660's in SLI or Crossfire be as well? Would they be as powerful as a GTX700 series card? That could be an alternative to more power if I go the 660's way.
Thanks
What cpu will u be getting?the 660ti is better than the normal 660.if u are getting an i5 the 660ti should be good.but if u plan to sli get a higher processor like an i7 series.the gtx 700 series is usually better at power consumption and you should see performance increase depending on what you choose(770,780).also take note only the 660ti support sli,not the 660.performance wise it should be able to keep up with newer cards on sli.
I'm looking at an i5 4670 Haswell. So a better bet for SLI would be the i7 or go 700-Series?
The 760 is worth the money over the 660ti, infact i would pick single 760 over sli 660.
660sli would have a better performance, no question, but picking the single best card is almost always a better option:
-Less power consumption,
-Less noise,
-newer chip/technology
-Have less power today, but more tomorow (2x 760 outperforms GXTtitan, in most cases.
It is definilty worth to get the 760, and since SLI is alrady on ur mind, dual 760 is amazing.
