How good is this build for WoW?

My budget is between 500-600.

Intel Pentium G630 2.7GHz Dual-Core Processor
ASRock LGA1155Motherboard
Corsair 4GB DDR3 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM internal hard drive
Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB video card
Corsair 500w power supply

Some inputs would be appreciated. Can this play WoW at max. Settings?

Your CPU is not the best choice. I would go with a quad core or the i5 2500k I know it cost around $200.00. But what you have now up there, you will be able to still play WOW.

But I don't know about if you will be able to play at max with that CPU. everything else is good. So here is a link to all the CPU's that have a quad core. Maybe some are in your price range. Good luck to you.

I do agree with DM. An i5 will give you better results and later on when you want to upgrade, you're not as restricted. Pentium cores are phasing out real fast, its just a better investment into the future.

Traditionally, WoW was pretty CPU heavy. I read an article, I think here, that with Cata, it got more taxing on the GPU end. But, like the above poster said, it depends on resolution/settings you want. You could play on a P4, could. WoW is one of those games they want everyone to play so it has very minimal requirements to just play. How smooth you want to play balanced with how good you want it to look determines what you need.

As others said, I'd agree that everything there is ok to play wow on 1920x1080 at ultra detail bar the CPU.

If you have the funds available, I'd definately recommend an i5-2500k (if your motherboard is able to overclock). If not then I would suggest an i5-2400.

Hopefully this has helped you!

The 7750 is good for 1920 x 1080 ultra settings (just) see

And a 1st generation i3 can give over 60FPS so a Pentium G630 should be fine to see

WOW is just not that taxing on hardware, but note on the 1st chart these may be better options than the 7750 depending on price where you are. BTW I used to play it on a 1.8GHz Pentium 4 laptop years ago (I don't think you could now).
while I do agree that i5 will give him better results, I'm not sure which restrictions you're referring to if he decides to upgrade. 1155 is the best socket at the moment.

budget is 500-600 as stated in first post. I second the fact that i3 will be a better CPU given that WOW is pretty CPU heavy game.

G630 is a good CPU and it comes close to i3, so if getting i3 is just not possible on your budget I'd go with G630 and then upgrade to better CPU if you're still not happy with performance at a later date when you can find more money.

FYI: I found some benches that put G620 on 1680x1050 on all max with no AA at about 85fps, but there's no description what the test involved, so I would assume for 25+ raids that number would decay significantly. Comparatively, i3-2100 put them at 95fps.
