I have a Evga 680I MB with E6300 and 1gig of Ocz Gold fsb800 5-5-5-15 (non SLi). I was able to get the CPU overclock to 1850 FSB and Memorey to 875MHZ with 4-3-3-9 Timings. Temperature at Idle is 41C and under loade it has maxed at 45C.

Would it benefit me much to replace my ram with SLI ready RAM and maybe even go up to 1066FSB ?

Thanks,

what do you mean by "go up to 1066FSB"? 1066 is a stock fsb!

my suggestion, get another 1 gig stick of ram and try to oc cpu to 1:1 ratio! gl

Guys, thanks for you help. I was wondering if SLI memory offered any advantages or not. This is the memory that I have.
OCZ Gold 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model OCZ2G8001G - 5-5-5-15.
As I mentioned earlier I was able to overclock it to 4-4-4-12 ( I had to relax the 4-3-3-9 a litte) and 875FSB. MY next question is, How good is this memory? Would if be much of a performance increase to send this back and buy memory with a 1066 FSB?

Also when I bouth this I wasn't planning on any gaming so I got a 7100gs video card. I am changing this. can you guy recommend a good budget video card. Would I benefit more from say 2 7600gt's for or one higher end card ? Thanks again for you help.

Don't waste money on SLI unless you have a 24"+ monitor to use it with. SLI is only worthwhile at really high resolutions.

7600GT is brilliant value for money atm but i would go for a 7900GS/x1950Pro

Thanks, I'll start looking for a 7900. Any thought on upgrading my ram from ddr2 800 to ddr2 1066. I cam currently running my e6300 at 3.1gigs. Could I go higher with ddr2 1066 and would it be worth it ?

Ok i'm confused because you have posted saying you have a 1850 FSB and then 875 FSB. The default FSB for your cpu is 1066, what do you currently have it at?

I know more about o'cing AMD cpu's, but should be able to give some advice.

First i need another person to chip in here. Months ago when i was reading the forums, a guy wanted to get his 6300 1:1 ratio with his ram. I suggested that 1066mhz ram should do it but turns out i was wrong. To get a 1:1 ratio with his ram, i was told he needs to use 533mhz ram.

In many 'rate my build' topics, people are advised to get 533mhz ram with their 6300 if not o'cing and 667 or 800mhz if o'cing. So if you were to o'c, you would jump your ram speed down to 533mhz and have plenty of o'cing room.

So to my understanding you don't need new ram but like i said i am confused. Hopefully one of the greats can chip in and help.

To Clarify, my bios settings are CPU FSB 1850 = 3.23 gig whitch is really 7x 462 FSB memory is a 850 which is 425 fsb. They are currently unlinked. which seems to be the limit for my ram. My questions is would faster ram say 1066 allow me to over clock more? or would it even make a difference. in there wouldn't that allow my to atleast OC my Chip to 2132 (533 FSB) or 3.7 gig.
