I am a first-time PC builder. With this PC, I would like to be able to play Minecraft with shaders at at least 60 FPS and record. I also want to be able to play most AAA title first person shooters like COD very smoothly and record as well. Aside from gaming, I want this PC to be fast in general and edit well. How well will my PC perform? (BTW I am a complete noob when it comes to PC building, so any help is appreciated) Have and improvements? I want to keep the price around $2000.

For gaming and recording, I recommend the Intel 6 core i7. It runs on the slightly older Haswell and X99 platform. It is much faster than the CPU you picked and cost the same.

You will need a X99 motherboard (socket 2011v3). You can still use the DDR4 ram that you picked. The only reason I recommend this setup is because it is VERY similar in cost but gives you two more cpu cores, very important for gaming and recording. It also support twice the amount of ram...

I would get rid of the H60 and upgrade to something like an H100i (dual 120mm radiator).

Everything else looks good to me. You could downgrade to a 970 but I see you choose a 144hz monitor, the 980ti will help keep the FPS as high as possible.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely consider these upgrades.

What motherboard do you recommend exactly?
