How good is this rig for gaming?

Hey, its been like 7 years since I got a new comp, this will be my third ever machine until now! So, I should be getting it by 2013 March or April, and for a while I've been doing a lot of research. So, since I am on quite a tight budget and I've never built my custom rig before, I'd like your thoughts and suggestions! The purpose of this rig is mainly gaming but also for a little 3D work, photoshop, after effects, etc. Here it is -----

AMD FX 8350 4.0GHz (not planning to OC)
Sapphire/Gigabyte HD 7950 3GB DDR5 (only one)
2x4GB 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance RAM
ASUS M5A97 Motherboard
Benq 24" LED - GL2450HM Monitor (1920x1080p)
Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Mid Tower Desktop Case

I haven't really calculated the actual price, but I'm guessing it should be about $1,300 to $1,500..
So, please tell me what you think, it'd help a lot!

For $1300 there's no point in purchasing FX, even the 8350. I'd go Intel all the way. Especially if you're not planning to overclock. You don't need the H80 and you should absolutely get an SSD, but too much money being spent on peripherals - you can always add those later. I'd get something like this:

Your spec is very impressive. Your card and CPU will play most of the action games on max settings for sure.

Ya, I had considered Intel at first, but I read that AMD CPUs age better than Intel. Since I'm not gonna be getting anything for a while, it is much better. And I agree with you on the peripherals, but I currently don't have a keyboard or mouse. Also, to support my choice of AMD, I've used their CPUs in both of my previous computers! But thanks again! Oh, which cooler would you suggest lastly?

Then wait for the intel haswell which will be better than ivy bridge and far more better than any amd cpu, also the 8xxx series of amd comes out on aprox. that date.
No point in selecting anything now, since with new cpus coming, new gpus and mobos latter on...also the prices of those components would also change by that date, its pointless.

Well, thanks for that, but will these CPUs be out by March-June 2013? But, I am eager for the next AMD FX 8xxx series! Intel is something I really am not considering.. But thanks anyway!
