How good of a build will this be?

Hey, so i have made a build on partpicker, and was wondering these will be able to max games like bf4 and dayz on max settings?

I don't use msaa so better chance too.


Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card

Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

This all comes to $888 before shipping and taxes and after should be a little below $1000 because the taxes where i live suck 🙁

1 main thing i want to know is, should i get the i5 4690k? I heard that it doesn't work with some motherboards so i don't know if it will or not. Thanks for help.

Great build, but go with the 4690K instead and the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207013 the Z97 board is designed for the 4690K. The 4690K doesn't work with some Z87 boards, though.

Looks fine except for a few things.

Change the PSU to a better unit. antec, XFX, Seasonic.

Get 2x4gb RAM, not a single stick.

It will run most everything on high, but many games will not max. Some will but others will not.

Yes, get the new i5. It is perfectly compatible with your motherboard.

No, this is 1.65v RAM, which is not supported by Intel's memory controller. Must be 1.5v or less.

Although it works, you have voided your CPU warranty by running memory that is very clearly labeled 1.65v which is over the stated voltage for the CPU.

Just get 1.5v RAM.

I have done the same, but (although very unlikely) if something were to happen and the memory controller had an issue, it would be out of warranty due to the RAM.

Actually in gaming, RAM speed makes no real difference.
