How good of a graphics card do I need on my computer to get the most out of my HD TV?

Solution

So the integrated graphics is sufficient? Would there be no difference in quality in my HD TV using a video card vs integrated graphics?

Not the slightest, if You're gonna use HDMi/HDMi on Your TV and computer. If You'd use VGA, there could be some slight difference, besides that it's none.

Wisecracker - Intel Clear Video HD Technology is a publicity stunt, nothing more, nothing less. Sophisticated players, like VLC, or KM Player use their own algorithms to enhance movies. Any dedicated graphics card won't do better, playback quality-wise, than the Intel iGPU.

op - personally I'd go this way.

Ignoring You wisecracker. The only one who has constant need of denying all of my comments is You. And yes, with ferit endings and ferit shielding, You can have similiar results on vga cable, as on HDMi. You can't of course transfer sound.

How come you recommend a SSD btw? Would that improve the quality?

Solution
@pigstriker - Why not just try it out on your HDTV without a graphics card. If you're happy with the results, no need for one. If it doesn't look like you think it should, then try out a graphics card. Just something like a Geforce GT630 or Radeon R5-240.
