How good would this be?

Solution

You've got a $1,000 GPU and a $400 motherboard.
Don't cheap out on the OS drive.

Whats a cheap Samsung one that's the same price??? aha i didn't notice that i meant 2160p 😛

OK thanks... the budget is kinda tight so i would have to risk getting something else cheaper to get a larger ssd

I just only want OS on ssd...Gpu is one of the best on the market :)

Motherboard isn't 400$

oops...I meant CPU.

I just meant in my case, I wasted money from my firm budget on a fancy water cooler that a air cooler that was cheaper would have given the same cooling and I could put the money to better use, like a better GPU.

You want only the OS on the SSD, but sometimes some programs don't give you a choice and then install on the . I have a 120GB and with SSD's you don't even want them full, and I struggle to keep it around half.

This too. Once the PC boots, the benefits of the SSD are done. So once a day or less if you leave your PC idle. I've installed a game on my SSD and it was a lot faster, if I could I'd get TB's of SSD and put everything on it. they rock. lol.

Yes you SHOULD get an SSD. Just not one that is too small, and 'just for the OS'.
Personally, I'll not build another PC without one. All 3 of my main PC's here have an SSD as the OS and application drive.
My main PC has 4, totaling 1.5TB of SSD space.

in my case its ether 120gb ssd only for OS boot or none...

Well...I've given my opinion. 250GB.
If an extra $50 out of a $2,200 build is too much of a difference...that's your choice.
